What Is Your Writing and Editing Strategy For Your Book?
We are all experts in our field and the information is in our head but, unfortunately, a lot of us still struggle to get it onto paper. What’s amazing is how quickly we can write and turn around a published book when we have the right strategies in place and when we give up needing to undertake every step of the process ourselves.
Create an Outline or Table of Contents for Your Book
One of the simplest and quickest strategies that you can ever do is have an editor or a ghostwriter interview you. There are a couple of reasons you want to be interviewed:
1. They interview you in a way that gets the book written
2. They will be able to pick up your voice so that your book will be written in your style of talking
First, you go through and put together your Table of Contents. For a 120-page book, it might be 8 or 10 chapters. Then have your ghostwriter or editor interview you on those 8 or 10 topics. You get the interview transcribed, have your editor or ghostwriter edit it to get the right flow, then feed it into the book formula and voila! It doesn’t have to take a long time or a tremendous amount of effort to write a book. You can even be an author without having to do much of the writing yourself.
Consider a Ghostwriter for Your Book
Ghostwriters, editors and many different people can help you put your book together quickly, but you must make sure that you’re dealing with people that know the process that we’re talking about in this book. The publishing industry itself has evolved, but there are still a lot of people working in the old guard, and it does not work. Make sure the people that you get involved with are cutting-edge and have proven systems that work. If you deal with people like that, you’ll have no problem publishing a book that attracts your ideal client, solves their problems and makes you money.
Dictate Your Book to Get It Written Fast
A great way to get your book done quickly is to have someone interview you and record your answers. The interviewer must be someone who has experience on going through your Table of Contents and asking the questions that pull out the really important information about the problem that you solve. You want someone who can do it in a way that will pick up your voice, so it is communicated to the people reading your book.
The editor or ghostwriter then takes a transcription of the interview and puts it into a logical sequence so that your book makes sense. You want to have a flow that leads the reader from the problem to the solution to some sort of call-to-action. At the end of it, it must be obvious that you are the person who can really help them solve their problems.
A ghostwriter is a lot more expensive way
